Underrated is all personal preference just that it's obvious they never really got the love they deserve

The entire point of 'underrated' is they never had the mainstream success of a major band, but were WAY better

Example - Faith No More > Red Hot Chili Peppers

or

Mr. Bungle > Red Hot Chili Peppers

Underrated as in they should have been way more popular than they were
