I swore that the olympics were going to be the period on the end of the covid 19 sentence.
I thought it would show us that we could gather, and accomplish wonderful human acts of greatness and it would all be OK. That we'd bare witness to what we forgot and remember our future. It would inspire us to get back out there and clean up the mess that 2020 left behind.
But what we got was exactly the opposite of that so far.
And if I thought that the Olympics were going to be the light that precedes the dawn, maybe it's showing us the canary being dead as fuck in the coal mine.
