The attrition rate is so high that they didn't even tell me they hired me to be a climber. The guy saw the recon part in my email and later admitted that was the only reason he even hired me. He said given my Military background that he assumed I would be able to handle the mental and physical aspect of the job, and he was right. I remember my first day there, there was a kid up in a tree, and another guy on the ground using a non-conductive pole to pull a tree branch away from the wire because it was touching the tree that guy was in and zapping him. I love anything where there is a chance of me dying, or where most human beings are too physically weak to do the job like for most people being physically fit is just a hobby, but for me, most of my jobs = being physically fit is mandatory, and the more fit you are, the better you are at your job. | |||
