If they applied that standard to everything else they know, they wouldnt know shit. They wouldnt be "allowed" to know anything because if you didnt witness it or know someone who died from it, it must be fake.

What else fits into that category??? More things than I can fucking list. The problem is, when you dont understand science, you can make ANYTHING into a conspiracy.
