For real though, you should really consider trying to get up to 22-23 BMI. Being right on the cut off of "normal" isn't healthy. It's associated with higher mortality. School is over soon, so gonna start running so I'm not so god damned fat.
Running is hella-tough when you are overweight. What tends to happen is the muscles will tire trying to support the weight, and as that happens we compensate subconsciously with our bones, which could result in sore joints and especially shin splints

You’d probably enjoy working out more if you started with something like cardio hiking or swimming, depending on how overweight you are

If you insist on running, I would recommend paying careful attention to your running form (don’t let it slack), and stop before you tire too much. I know it seems counterproductive to stop early, but it will prevent compensating with the bones. Hurting your joints or getting nasty shin splints will limit you far more than stopping early did

Running is a thin man’s game. I personally love it, but I didn’t love it until I had lost all the fat and could maintain a certain pace comfortably almost indefinitely. Prior to that it was hell on earth when I was fat
