Ya if it's been grafted and it's from a nursery that's pretty a gauranteed it will be a good producer. If from seed its gauranteed to suck ass. 5 years of watering and care to find out

Eh, I'm growing a fuckload of Leeks with them, and will cycle in Legumes for nitrogen-fixing in the second harvest this year, so not a total loss if they don't work for me. Will continue to utilize the 8' of dead space in the 3'x12' spot I tilled last week for them in any fashion so they're pretty much just occupying a combined floorspace of 18 square feet. Once they fill out, I will likely just grow peppers under their boughs, since peppers prefer partial shade out here. That central valley mid-day sun is a killer in the summer time.
