Well! After we pave the planet in glorius hellfire not unlike the predictions made in the book of Daniel. We will also be coating the planet with something that it wasnt riddled with before, radiation.

Thanks to the atmosphere, we were saved the harshness of radiation, and life was able to grow on this juicy little rock. But becuase of that, we cant see, taste, smell or notice when radiation is litreally ripping our bodies apart. Because we had no reason to evolve to notice it, because it wasnt here.

So, I think if we just take out about 90% of humanity now: specifically with radiation hellfire, the 10% left over, will adapt to live with radiation, and boom, we can THEN go to mars. But not until then.
