I'm 12th, with 15PP. Doesn't bother me, to be honest. I like living in a nice place with nice stuff, having a nice vehicle, with clean clothes and a fridge full of Jager. I don't give a shit about your level 60, full Hate gear, GEBs and 100,000 plat, levitating in the EC tunnel, preening for anyone that happens to run by for the 3-4 or so hours a day that I play. But if that is what makes ya happy, marvelous. Knock yourself out. (Speaking in general terms here, no one in particular). Been there done that and though I was Mr. Awesome in-game, the only people who ultimately gave a damn were people whom I didn't even know most of their real names and never saw again the moment I sold my account for $500. Though, I have to chuckle at those who seem to think that their status in an MMO actually has any bearing on their status in reality. Then again, it's been that way since Day One of this genre. Tis the nature of the beast. Unfortunately those who do, normally wallow like pigs in slop in the admiration of those who feel as they do and well, in my experience, most of them are like you said, either basement dwellers at Mom and Dad's and/or jobless. Those tend to give the stay-at-home parents, or self-employed people a bad name and can get rather ...annoying at times, I will admit. In response to Knuckle's rant, yeah. I tend to agree as well. Back in the day, I vaguely remember thinking it was somewhat difficult, but then again, I had nothing to compare it to then. I also remember being bored, reading books while glancing up at the screen every now and then, falling asleep at the keyboard, and a lot of hurry-up-and-wait. I remember being out at the club or out with friends and getting paged for a raid spawn (didn't have cell phones back then), hauling ass home after feeding my friends some bullshit non-dork excuse, to log in half-drunk, only to sit and wait for 4+ hours. After that was DAoC. I wouldn't even call them raids. More like, bum rushes. It wasn't until the early days of Age of Conan in 2008 as a 80th level necromancer in a raiding guild doing 24-man T2 and T3's three times a week that I realized that, you know what? EQ raiding is really not that difficult at all. Not. At. All. Azorath | |||
