anhyway... on a side note JRR Tolkien wasn't into allegory.

He was into mythology.

And that mythology while not directly allegory.. is about the nature of the universe, and that is life, sex, and reproduction, and the meaning and purpose of such things to the mortal beings that dwell in the heavens.

So take that as you will.
