The cure is made from a chemical in Marah Fabacea, a known anticholinergic and deliriant. The answer was in the bible in Exodus 12:22-25 all along. Don't take more than 1 seed at a time to prevent delirium.
The fruit also contains saponnins, which can be used as a soap to wash your hands with. Native Americans used to use this stuff to paralyze fish, which caused them to float to the surface where they were easily gathered.
