Could you please clarify what this will mean for all currently extant Ant's Potions? Will they poof? Will they be unusable until the 'correct' point in the timeline? Will current ones remain, but new ones will be impossible to make? Any of these possibilities has some real economic implications for those of us who make and sell potions.

Players won't be able to create new potions and the potions that already exist will become unusable until the correct timeline patch. So nobody is going to lose anything.
