Ip Exemption Request Question *has anyone done this before?*

I just asked for an Ip exemption for my bro and Gf, but after I posted the thread in the petition forum I wondered how I will be notified if we're granted the exemption. I left an email address, but do they send you an email if it's granted? What about if it is denied? Any details from someone who has been through this thing would be appreciated.
