I used to sell those for 10k back in 2000. A fungi for 55k? More like 80k. Cloak of Flames for 50k? Easily 75k-100k+ on live.

I legit recall a guy in EC ranting in /ooc pre-Kunark about a guy from Ring of Valor selling his COF, 60k iirc. Same argument about a lousy economy. I think he was just angry cause he couldn't buy it or trade for it.

The other issue you had on live in 2000 was that most of the high-end stuff was effectively priceless because there was no way anyone was going to sell it. You weren't going to find Flayed Barb Leggings for 900k in 2000 because you were unlikely to find them at all.

People don't realize how easy they have it on p99 sometimes. You could level a druid to group porting levels, bind at Hammer Hill, and make 10k in a week or two if you really go at it. That 10k would go really far compared to live2k.

Yep. That guys COF back on live was essentially priceless at the time. You would have had to trade some really nice, rare, items for it.
