Game Mechanics: Trapped above the ship from Butcherblock to Freeport

This is an odd one, but I managed to get myself stuck in the air watching the ship sail away.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Get onto the ship from BB to FP
2. Observe the levitation effect
3. Wait for the ship to zone into East Freeport (optional?)
4. Run at the mast
5. Climb the mast by running at it
6. Keep climbing until you get above the mast
7. Watch the ship sail away without you when it finally starts moving
8. Observe that you cannot move or fall

I have climbed the mast many times, just for fun, but this is the first time I have ever got stuck. I had to camp and come back in, which led to my falling into the sea.
