So I finally got high enough faction CoV that I can be in WW in wolf for and not be KOS to the roaming dragons. I finished off the last 10% of 58 and am 30% into 59. Though the xp modifier of WW (80 with standard 75) is not that much lower than the 90 of permafrost, the mobs are higher with a level range of 45-50. The biggest problem I'm having is actually finding mobs to kill. The zone is huge (pulls can be longer) but ... I've noticed that killing in any given area tends to run dry of animals within 1-3 hours.
Questions for those that may be in the know: -are animals on their own spawn tables or can killed animals spawn as drakes/wyverns. If they all share a big spawn table ... I've got to kill some of the lesser drakes/wyrms/wyverns to keep the animal spawns up. -are there drakes/wyverns that won't result in CoV faction loss? I can always charm an animal to kill a drake/wyvern but 1 faction hit and I could become kos. Beyond that, in killing these targets I have to watch out not just for Ice burrowers (huge aggro radius) but also other CoV mobs to include named dragons with huge aggro radius. I've eaten two deaths to burrowers early on - no deaths in the last 25% as they're big and otherwise easy to avoid -Velium hounds. Aggro radius is greater than casting range. They're fast. Even snared nearly sow speed (can out run in wolf form). Always 49? They're great xp and quite rare. Do they share the same spawn tables as the above? They're by far the best for killing burrowers with. -Speaking of burrowers, what is the highest aggro spell druids have? Flame lick is cheap and has a debuff, but they're *animals* thus I can use Glamour of tunare which has 1 poison counter and -20 mana tash component. I'm assuming glam of tun is thus the best aggro spell for mana, but is there a better aggro spell per cast that I'm not thinking of? -Ice Burrower real hp: It can't be the 20k listed in Wiki. No chance. Regular mobs are 7500hp and they take much (MUCH) longer to kill kiting with a hasted pet. Anyone have real hp values? -Strongorn/Tantor: Have found 1 Stronghorn up and ended up killing with a bard, cleric, and myself with charmed pet who ended up tanking with cleric chealing. These have set spawn timers or random chance off any animal (or any given mob)? Can these be snared? Stronhorn runs stupid fast and we never ended up snaring him. Can they BE snared? If so, I suppose it's possible to solo though turbo annoying. ----------------------------------------------- Fun zone. Good xp. Animals per wiki are 45-50 level and all are dark blue at 59 and thus good xp. My only gripe is that finding mobs is somewhat hard. Burrowers are annoying but I've learned my lesson and figured out where to kite to avoid them. Anywho ... anyone know the answer to any of these? Edit: PS: I really wish there was a way to make animals quad. Sucks that animals are apparently flagged to not ever duel wield given torches/weapons etc. If so, would be insane ... or is there some trick I'm missing?
