Necro Pets and Dual Wield

Hey urr'body

I'm new to the red box and I read some very old forum posts saying that Necro pets are bugged and don't innately dual wield on red, and that you have to give them a torch (or two weapons or whatever) to get them to dual wield.

Is this still the case? Was it ever fixed?
