in the set 1,2,4,8,7,5,1...
there are three deltas: 1,2,4. if you create a new set using just these three deltas, starting from 0 instead of 1, you get, 1,2,4,3,1,-3. The first observation should be that the total of this set is 8, which is 3+5. if, however we take only the positive portion of the repeating section of this set, we get 4,3,1, which also equals 8 = 3+5. Now if we add to this, the deltas used to establish the set (1,2,4), we get: 4+1,3+2,1+4=5,5,5 = 3 5s... I too prefer 3, but feel 5 is vitally important.
