If you could not care less you care the least amount possible. This is what you're trying to communicate.
If you could care less you're actually specifying that you care a certain amount because less fucks could be given. That might mean you care very little (but some!) but it could also mean you care the most you possibly could, which is the exact opposite of what you're trying to say.

This usage needs to be scorched from the earth.
