Isn't "little people" just infinitely more offensive? I don't know any little people, but I would think this sounds so much more derogatory. Almost like it's a phrase that is trying to be PC, but comes off being underhandedly offensive. Kind of like you tried your best to classify someone, but it wasn't quite good enough.
Dwarf isn't any better, even though I think it's way cooler.
Don't get me started on "cretinism", which is actually some kind of physical congenital disease or something that I've heard people associate with midgets. That's gotta be the worst.

I don't know man. Every time I seen them on TV, they all say that "midget" is highly offensive and that they prefer to be called little people.
"Midget" as slur
During the 2009 National Conference of the Little People of America, a press conference was held to make a public statement regarding the use of the word "midget", which is considered offensive by many people with dwarfism. The statement was made in direct response to an episode of Celebrity Apprentice which featured a multiple uses of the word "midget" and a justification of it by one of the celebrities, Jesse James.[4] Members of the LPA have filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission over the use of the word midget on broadcast television.[5] The complaint said that "the word 'midget' is considered offensive to the dwarfism community and should not be seen or heard on TV or radio".[6]
