Enchanter's Pet and Leveling as Newbie.

I'am a new to the game, but I have a lot of exp. in mmorpg and rpgs. Now I'am lvl 8 Enchanter, I can barely kill blue mobs and they give not so much exp. per kill. Does my pet take some of that exp.? I can't figure it out.
Am I need to buy any armor or weapons (I buy only basic armor with AC on it)? Is it reasonable to create a group and farm mobs with someone? I notice that not much people use LFG system, most people solo all the way?
P.S. I enjoy the server and the game so far. looking forward to more group focus experience.

Try to find another person and duo, grouping with a druid or cleric can be great exp for both. Also take a look at the wiki. It should have pet level ranges and dmg so you can tell what level your pet is. Having the highest level pet can make a big difference.
