You don't necessarily need a UI that gives exact numbers - it can also give just % of current level. If you take down the number of kills and your exp % total afterward as a sequence about 10 times, you can calc a really close estimate of exactly how many % you're getting per kill, and do the same thing somewhere else.

It wouldn't be exact, but it'd be close.
