To make a long story even longer, we accrued PVP gears very fast because all we did was PVP, and we became even stronger than ever with these uber PVP gears on. Not long after we had been dominating people hard, we were all chatting in guild chat etc., and I said something regarding skill and others in our guild, and it came off very egotistical and when I had said it, I didn't even realize it. It wasn't until the GL who was a good pal of mine said something along the lines of, "huh, now that you got all those uber gears you sure sound full of yourself." I then took a step back, looked at how I was talking to my own guild, and realized that he was right. I was sounding like some conceited, uppity prick and prior to this point I never thought and acted like that. This really struck me profoundly tbh. I understood then how INGAME pixellated items and notoriety really can influence and alter a gamer's perspective of not just themselves but even other people. Ever since then, I always tried to put things in proper perspective as best as I could. I just think guy's like Maner have lost the ability to do this, they truly have lost sight of the big picture, and even of themselves. Their brains really are floating in pixels and it has altered their perspectives and not in a good way. | |||
