DAoC is actually fucking amazin' once you get into it. Endgame wise it's 60%PvP 20%PVE 20%CRAFT
Every class has an "epic" storyline that eventually over the progress of completing the quest line gives you a set of armor worthy of PvP/PvE to which you progress it further with raided/crafted items. The whole concept that you need to raid 60 hours a week just to get a BiS toon is non-existent in the game. The biggest upgrades you can get on your character are from Crafted items and PvP upgrades ( upgrades like +5 str, or xtra class skills only earned thru PvP, think PvP trinkets from WoW etc ). You could log in to DAoC and quest all the way to 50, engage in PvP, get geared, buy weapon upgrades etc, and never have to be tied down to guild for progression; of course if you want to experience the large scale PvP it's best done in guilds but even still you don't need to be tied down per say. BUT if all you wanna do is log in and smoke a giant blunt and killed hill giants for 5 hrs straight it def isn't the game for you. | ||
