Microsoft was Brad's cash cow for Vanguard, and somewhere along the way they got cold feet. IIRC, it was because Brad was taking too long with it. Sony picked it up - I'm guessing that he had to take their money - and I know that if I had been in his shoes that would have been the last thing I would have done, but hey...gotta have funding.

Sometime late in beta he started putting crazy shit in the game and doing things entirely contrary to what he'd started. We bitched at him, but he essentially said he was being pushed for release. So - imo - they took creative control from him, told him to put stupid crap in, and pushed him into releasing a game he knew wasn't ready.

This time, instead of screwing up Brad's stuff after release, they screwed it up before it even got off the ground.

Vanguard could have been the shiznit if they'd let him do what he wanted.
