I find your point on hiding distasteful behavior interesting though because it fosters an environment of predation, wherein the prey are entirely unaware of the predators. If the predators act openly, they can at least be identified as such, affording their prey the opportunity to defend themselves. Advocating a situation wherein individuals learn to mask predatory behavior with apparent cooperation necessarily results in oppression and strengthens class division.
I get your point that certain behavior should not be praised, but I think it is important for children to learn consequence as a deterrent to actually engaging in the behavior rather than learning to hide it to be more effective.
