First character on P99, any pointers?

I've been playing liveEQ for a few years now, and I really like the game. But I grew frustrated with some of the things in live, like the defient gear for example.
There was all this neat and unique gear in eq that was rendered largely useless by the defient gear. I recently heard about p99, and decided to give it a try.
I am having a little trouble starting out on my new char, and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I have the worst time getting around, with the map disabled, are there even quests? Where on earth is my class trainer?
