Didn't nilbog say it was an easy fix? To simply have the character come out as LD on the other side? It was avoided here because it wasn't classic and arguably deters pvp.

nilbog looked into 2-3 options and considered how they would affect the game.

Each option was ruled technically impossible or just plain harmful to the current state of PvP. Plugging is a tactic and promotes PvP, whether we like it or not.
