Aside from allowing Shammies to regain mana very fast and be excellent backup healers for raids (although I recall more than one tank saying "Let me die unsnared please!") with Torpor you can torpor yourself, pull a bunch of mobs with AOE slow, then root them at your leisure to epic rot. Between the lowered damage output from the slow and the constant 300hp pulses from Torpor makes breaking camps solo much easier... send in the torpored 55 pet to absorb all the HTs before the AOE slow for extra credit [You must be logged in to view images.
