"Varsoon awoke. The Minotaur had left him for dead, and though Varsoon's lifeblood pooled about him and the angry burning of death ripped through his intenstines, the warrior did perish. He clawed his way out from the caves and back to the cottage."

Perhaps one word is missing - "...and the angry burning of death ripped through his intestines, the warrior did NOT perish."

Since if he was dead but clawed his way back to the cottage, then he would have already been undead, no?

Still enjoyed the story - perhaps one day I shall spin a yarn or two about Norrath.
