Lots of replies.
Here's the answer to a couple suggestions/questions:

Why did we stay in Faydwer? That's where people were. We wanted to play with others and although we played with one another semi-regularly, we did play alone, with 3, or just paired up alot. We wanted to stay near to one another, but still allow each other flexibility to group and such.

Crystallized pumice? I just looked it up, I never knew what that was. I don't know how much it costs, but we had an incredibly hard time affording spells, so I doubt we could buy them.

Why u such a bitch? I dunno, I probably could have stuck it out. The point of this post wasn't wah wah wah, feel sorry for me. Its more like "Hey, I got 3 cool guys to join me on this dope server and all 3 of them were driven away by something"

Maybe u just aint made for this? Again, maybe so. I played eq pvp around 2001 (post-velious i think). It was really really fun. Lots of battles, but no one ever (atleast at lower levels) seemed invincible. Strong, but not invincible.

Just level past the jerks? We didn't join the game to grind our way to 60 ASAP. We liked quests, we liked pvp (when its fun), and we liked exploring. We had many, many xp deaths (trying to get my enchanters golden rod at level 19 in upper guk resulted in the entire group being deleveled once. It was the most fun we probably had). We honestly estimated that in a year we'd be like 55 or so.

All that being said, the majority of folks we met were awesome and super generous. I've gotten a message since posting this offering free PL'ing past MM levels and some gear. That's super cool and thank you. I will be declining though. I came here with buddies and they've left.

Final thoughts:
Maybe I lead a group of wienies or whatever, but the way we remember eq was that when you saw someone in the most amazing gear (fungus tunic, epic, jboots (which used to seem pretty epic when you saw them) or whatever else) they were normally helping you out or giving you pointers. On this server its more scary than anything else.
