Starting fresh, a few questions

I've played on Blue for a few weeks, and I have been in love with Project1999 ever since. I've decided to come over to Red, as I hear so many positive things about it.

My questions are:

Which newbie areas are most populated on Red? i.e. which race would have the best chance of grouping.

Is EC Tunnel the marketplace?

Are there any classes that Red end game is low on?
