For questing, but mainly for the principle, I wanted to get my factions at least to amiable with the monks of Freeport. So I ran around Freeport looking for the components for the first sash on the merchants (2 deathfist pawn scalps, 1 snake fang, 1 bone chips) and collected enough for 40 sashes. I then got a wolf form and did the quest with Velan Torresk, wishing it would get me to indifferent, and oh surprise, I maxed my factions! I was then able to get my red sash without wolf form or using a mule! Yay!"

Tried this last night, been threatening for a long time, close to dubious, handed in 20 white sashes, still threatening. The sash quests aren't giving as much faction as they should.
