Knowing what we now know about the game, shamans starting with kunark are by far the most powerful solo and group contrib class in the game by a very wide margin. Kunark introduced the >50% slows that became the gamechangers.
Don't ever remember wizards being high on any list. rangers not until they upped their ranged damage which was very late in the cycle. the bottom three were necro ranger wizard second necro because necro crap didn't stack.
rangers got hate because they are strong below 30. they get much weaker later, but everyone's impressions are formed early. (IMO)
