When I got here, I also wondered what the livliness of the server would be like, given in classic live, we all got used to 2500-3200 or so players at peak times.

In being back, I can say that even 500 people in just the classic content is a living, breathing player base... even if 200 of those folks are in EC.

I think we forget that even though vanilla EQ seemed huge at the time, it seems like even 500 folks can give it life. Of course, once Kunark is released, we can expect to see some of the bustling of life in vanilla to decrease. I think we'll see a slightly thinner layer of players across the world with the expanded size. However, with new arrivals here each and every day, I also think that we'll see this 2nd and 3rd wave of folks leveling up keeping vanilla alive with people.

I wonder where we'll be in a few years... Hopefully in that time frame we can see both Kunark and Velious go live here on P99. I'm so excited for the future of this server. As more people learn of it and come home to classic, and the game world grows... I can't help wondering how many active folks we can expect during peak. 1500? 2000?

What if this community reached 3000 players during peak when all of the classic content is released? Exciting!
