Default Enchant metals spells still require gems
According to the June 24, 2014 patch notes:

"Enchant Steel (Apr2001) removed gem component
Enchant Silver (o) updated mana 60 => 80
Enchant Mithril (Apr2001) removed gem component
Enchant Brellium (Apr2001) removed gem component
Enchant Adamantite (Apr2001) removed gem component"

However, when I tried to have some mithril enchanted today, the enchanter got feedback saying he was missing a component (the blue diamond), and it ate my mithril bar.
