What good is classic Treeform?

I guess against outdoor dragons it will stop you from running in fear?

Do treeform and spirit of the oak actually do this? That's pretty cool, if yes. I mean, not that being stuck in place but still without control of your character is really a GOOD thing... but it's slightly less bad than running around I guess.
