The XP bonus (well, technically the smaller XP penalty) is rather nice too. And, as mentioned, there's the sexiness.

Gotta say though (having one myself): the hammer is nice. Not as nice as it used to be pre-nerf, but still it gives an extra DD or two per fight (and it goes great with a JBB, triggering in between JBB casts).
