Won't ever happen, the market bares what the market will bare. The masses like the dumbed down version, people on this server are a VERY small minority.

"The masses" aren't needed for a successful MMO. They like fantasy MMOs, but Eve is thriving anyway. A new MMO bucking very far from the current trend just needs to make sure it targets the right audience and doesn't end up abandoning that audience because they think that sucking in some of "the masses" will make them more money.
