Who said it was voluntary? School is not voluntary, it's required. Every child there is required, by their parents, and probably the government to attend school. They're also required to learn how to read. One way to learn how to read is to write things on a chalk board and have everyone read it letter-by-letter, word-by-word. If the fact that they earn money for school supplies by reading names of video game characters in addition to what they normally read is bad taste, then that is your personal opinion. I'm sorry to say that if you walk into any school in India and offer them a $5 donation to read words from a chalk board that are neither profane nor inappropriate, nobody will mind. Most schools / teachers / parents will appreciate the donation. Most people there don't make enough to buy supplies on their own, so any little bit helps.

Where's your donation?
