Black Screen after selecting P1999 server

I'm running Windows 7 and Everquest opens up just fine but when I get to the server select screen and select project1999, the screen goes black and then times out.

I did notice that it is specific to project1999 because when I accidentally selected another server, I was able to get to the character selection/creation screen.

Anybody else having similar issues? I checked the EQ EMU forums and didn't find anything that helped out with this problem. There's a FAQ on there about going to a black screen and then returning to login but this isn't the same problem.

I also inquired about it on the eq emu forum and they indicated that the problem was specific to project1999....any ideas?
