Last post before the rollback I believe, was you saying you presently did not have the data available necessary to put more detail into the point award system. Correct me if I am wrong..
anyways. I think as it presently stands we are all in agreement that someone that just entered level 52 and a lvl 60 decked out in VP gear should not award the same amount of points. Clearly you do not have the data available to determine the level of the person that died, but given the fact that this server has such a small population. Would it be hard to have a counter running for every individual's name enters the leader board. As it stands I guess that's how it currently works, however the timer for how the player is valued operates on a 10 minute timer. How about expanding that timer and having the formula also be impacted by said individual's KD ratio and other obviously relevant factors. Someone whose last 5 entries over the last 24 hours into the leaderboard have been deaths, should probably be worth 0 points for the following few days or so. Where as someone who has a 9-1 kill to death ratio should probably yield 5 points on their first death, and following that their yield amount should go down. I know that modifying the code to change the formula is not as simplistic as i present it, and i am sure its time consuming. I am happy to have a leader board at all. The only reason I bring about this conversation is because you seem very passionate about the server and am certain you'd like your leader board to represent the best possible data. perhaps some polls for the community to vote on how they think points should be awarded could take care of some of the decision making work. | ||
