People who want games like classic EQ are in the very slim minority when it comes to the overall MMO fanbase. SOE loves to throw around all sorts of cliche terms about development and inspiration...but what they really want is to make a game that's just different enough from the current MMOs to not be stale...but similar enough to bring in a ton of people.
