That's your typical argument over increased exp, along the lines of "THIS IS HARD GO PLAY WOW" type shit.
It really doesn't make sense defining the game by grinding levels this brutally. We've all done it, it's skillless brainless "work" that you have to do before playing the game.
Especially on Red99, it's mostly solo work, and really doesn't define anything that's fun about the game or PVP.
Raid mobs, quest armor/items, PVP, planes I mean there's tons to do in the world at max level that is worth while and fun, that make it very different from Counter Strike, it's just a ridiculous argument.
There's nothing hard about grinding to max level, it just takes an insane amount of time, and has nothing really to do with what would make the game fun for people.
It's a fun nostalgic part of the game, but that's about it - you don't have to fight your way through all the pvp, you don't have to figure out difficult situations, you just have to be logged in doing mundane shit for hours and hours, I think I've already said that though.
EDIT : I should add, levelling/character building actually is a fun part of everquest, when it doesn't take your family being pissed at you, or your girlfriend leaving you amount of time etc.

Please do not generalize "your" with "go play wow". I do not support it nor do i say it.
I will say however that Everquest is what it is. Trying to reinvent it as some kind of new wave FPS defies what "Project 1999"
was about. There has/will always be a grind. There has/will always be a dominant guild. There has/will always be winners and losers.
If you are looking for something other than what Everquest was designed for then i would suggest you get your like-mind friends together and make a emulated Everquest-Counter-Strike EMU and have fun!
Because by design Everquest will not change.
