Why would you wait half a year to release a server people want now? No matter how many fixes you make to red it will never thrive, repeat, it's never going to thrive. Red is what it is, it's max is 160 pop, nothing more than that and velious will only exasperate the gear differential and make fighting nihilum impossible. Since we all agree a wipe is bad, a fresh server is the best of both worlds.
Team99 will attract a different brand of player moreso than take away from reds player base. It's attracting people who never were going to try red99 regardless of clickies or resists, and you're seeing this born out by the flux of new posters here and on the blue forums. I know you only rolled here when the server already was down the shitter, making its final circle down the sewage drain, so you prolly still have that rose tinted glasses optimism I had once, "if only they do x red will thrive," they've done x 100 times over here: global ooc, YT, boosted xp rates, remove exp loss from deaths, etc., now we are hearing just fix clickies / resists / variance and red will thrive. When are people going to realize this server is never going to thrive, the dream is dead, it doesn't mean some fun times can't be had occasionally, but the dream of 400+ concurrent pop will never occur here.
Bring on team99 and no merge plz.
Edit: I got plenty of play invested on red99, I'd much rather see the server thrive than a new server, believe me. But I'm also a jew and a realist, and two years in I know it's just not going to happen.

They haven't done x 100 times. They've put bandaids on a server dismembered by bugs, bad resists and an image of neglect. Soon as devs actually start talking and saying things are going to get fixed, the population starts to climb. Were they actually to fix these issues and announce Velious in the coming months, population would no less than double.
Also, you don't want a merge because you have unlimited free time to play video games, while many people, including the neckbeards in Nihilum, do not. The other reasons you don't want a merge are obvious, you intend to go all in on t99 with a different team and you don't want Nihilum's past progress to stand in your way down the line.
Lets be real here.
