in the early days Gfay was a significant market on any server due to large number of newbies starting there (3 races of elves, dwarves, gnomes), thought secondary to EC in sheer number of sales and higher end items.
I used to do a fair share sales in Qeynos/Halas area during Velious era - selling to newbies-teens + some of potential higher end customers among people camping IGs.
Being druid helped a lot when working as traveling salesman.

The people who invented the first space ships were brilliant. That doesn't mean anybody should actually want to use them 200 years later. Ideas are limited by means of execution. Everquest has amazing ideas that need to be completely reworked in their execution, in order for classic Everquest as it was envisioned to actually exist and continue to be relevant as things have evolved.
