Ebolt is sweet. Plague is pretty damn sweet too - about the same damage overall, just Plague is the longer DoT.

I contend that Shaman DoTs put Shamen over the top for the best DPS in the game as it stands. This kind of DPS is usually overkill for a shaman, but I will say that my DoTs are pretty much the only things I've been able to land on boss mobs. A buffed shaman pet can rip mobs (and players!) up pretty well. Add to this Plague and Ebolt, maybe a nuke or two, and a bunch of Spiritist's Hammer procs and we're talking about some damn ridiculous damage. Granted, this is short-term DPS compared to say a rogue; I can't cast DoTs and nukes endlessly. That being said, Shammies have ridiculous regen, even as a Barb. It's pretty easy to scrape together the mana for another Ebolt between Canny and a Manastone. Ebolt will end a duel pretty quick, in general.

Just thought I'd throw that out there =) Most people don't give Shamans credit as damage powerhouses. People are more accustomed to the Kunark healer role and expect this pre-Kunark. Even minus a proccing raid weapon, the pet/dot/nuke damage Shammies can deliver is considerable. I say make your druids heal, let Shaman beasts fuck shit up!
