I've always had the idea of rather than having 2 or 3 competing guilds individual classes should form their own guilds. So warriors would have a warrior guild and wizards would have a wizards guild etc. This way everyone is kind of a free agent and raids would have to occur between alliances and negotiations rather than everyone logs in and cluster fucks to a raid target. Classes could create trade monopolies (items or tradeskills), control certain zones or areas or barter with others for use of their classes services.

I don't know if this would ever work but if it did I think it could create very deep and rich political systems rather than the current us vs. them mentality creating a whole new sub-game within EverQuest.
Would definitely bring an interesting element to the game and probably attract people new to the EQ genre.

Be interesting for sure.
