This as a Duo is very, very possible. Show me an enc/cleric who can do it without strings or bp! Just tried to duo him with sunra (string charm w/ druid haste, tash stick+HS north poison thing and bp heals). got him to about 80% and 70%. Charm broke and it was a massacre both times. Tried everything I could think of to ditch agro, but it was no use.

As long as charm lasts the whole fight you are fine. I was healing and dotting so it was just a luck game. Planned to burn and back off pet during enrage.

Rumor has it this might have been done with shaman slow and a number of pets lined up to chain charm. That might work since you might be able to lose agro.

All in all it was a ton of fun, and it sucks knowing that I could have done it if charm just lasted for 10 minutes, but I know that is also unlikely for a level 50 mob who is only tash-sticked for -MR. Maybe some cha gear would have helped? Don't think I'll try again any time soon.

Think I am going to try this on Svenn duo with a cleric. I think this would be ideal because I can malo and kite ixi until slow lands slow, cleric will root park my pet. Then when i run back I will strings my pet and actually tank ixi (~3600hp w/ cleric buffs). Me being a tank will greatly help in the case of strings breaking, as the pet's loss of agro will not have that great of an effect on the battle.

The disadvantage that enc/cler has is once charm break the whole fight ends, because even if enchanter has instant recharm, someone other than the pet will be tanking while the pet attempts to regain agro. I am looking forward to trying this now...

What? I have always been pretty sure I could duo with Slixin and a BP cleric (especially one with strings). Just blur on breaks while the cleric DAs. I've just never gotten around to trying. The biggest annoyance is that the cleric has to aggro kite because the enchanter slow is too slow (heh) to kite with shaman style.

Anyone has ever tried with a epic mage? Epic pet is crazy. I wonder if he can handle it. He can sure handle a guardian wurm that hits for 550 but only double if I recall.

So this thread needed an update and luckily I have a decent one to show. Today, on server reset, I solo'd Vessel Drozlin for enchanter epic quest. Purpose was for my enchanter of course, so don't fear that such an annoying camp went to waste.

Anyway for those unfamiliar with Drozlin he is a lvl 60 iksar shadowknight who hits for 320. What is unique about him is that he is unslowable, which is a distinct challenge for a shaman, or anyone really...

In any case I had been keeping a lvl 1 there to check for him to pop, and my mate Fabumbus, who was aware of this, texted me this morning that the server would be patched and likely would be reset (thx Fab). So I woke up and went back to bed, woke up again to anothe text 3 hours later that the server was actually coming up.

So I log in, its just me and another Vessel tracker in zone so I know I have to hurry to beat the competition. I also knew that invis pulls no logner worked, so it would be difficult to get a guard as my pet, I managed to do it with some trickery and when that didnt work, brute force.

So I engaged Drozlin with a hasted dual wielding lvl 50 guard and I couldnt believe how easy he was dropping! It turns out guards in Cab have huge amounts of HP for one reason or another. Here is a picture of him at 35%, my pet is at 50% and I have plenty of mana:

So I couldn't believe my luck, this 2-7 day random mob was all mine on server up, and it was dropping easy. Well not so fast I guess. the server fucking crashes or whatever happened when Drozlin was at 18%! Notice my connection bar at the upper left is failing!! OMG:

So I was freaking out, expecting to be dead when server came up next. Secondly I knew the other guy would be prepared for Drozlin and would have his crew organized.

Thankfully I was not dead upon server up somehow, but I had to go charm the guard again and kill another pathing guard which took ages. By the time I engaged Vessel my competition had zoned in. Here he is moments after engage #2:

This fight was not even close to as smooth. Vessel dispelled my pets malosini, and soon after that my charm broke. When I recharmed he dispelled, breaking charm, and when I recharmed a 3rd time he dispelled again. My hp dropped to literally 150ish, but thankfully I thought this fight would be much harder and had bought a soulfire which I clicked to save my ass and my having to wait another 7 days for this bastard.

Here is Vessel at 8%, my pet is super low as well but at this point he appears to be running. I ended up tanking most of the fight at the end because vessel was chainign dispell. Tanking an unslowed mob that hits for 320 is no joke at all. I basically had to chain torpor and superior heal:

Bam! So happy this is over with, I got super lucky to have good friends who texted me. I was expecting to have to not play all week and hoep to god vessel popped while I was watching the screen, which wouldve been annoying as all hell.


In other news I solo'd the tangrin today as well as Cazel, but I have personally solo'd Cazel before and tangrin has been done by many people, so not as good as Vessel

Thanks a ton! Mobs that are under competition add a whole new dimension to the solo artist challenge. In dealing with a mob that has a possible 7 day window, I wanted to make sure I didn't wipe which would mean asking more people to join, but on the other hand it was like 7am and competition was otw, so it was much quicker for me to go about it solo. Either way there is a lot more pressure involved.

Glad it worked out, but had I wiped I would've been so unhappy!

Nice work Svenn! You definitely should have been junk buffing a charm for a long fight vs a caster though.

So would you say your pet had 32k hp? I used gate guards for much charming fun back before they buffed their MR through the roof so that they are basically immune to magic even with tash. I wonder if some guards didn't get that buff, or if a normal guard got a hp buff, or what.

Also, you were going to actually legitimately sock drozlin? I KNOW you use GTT! Why wouldn't you just set up a trigger so you could have EQ minimized or be doing something else nearby until GTT sees him casting a spell then starts yelling at you? Shaman OP! Nice kill.

I tried to solo cliff golem on Naeyn and got my face smashed in when charm broke at 70%. Then Lecompte on Bowlofruit demonstrated how a shaman with a fungi + Torpor and no other high level spells (pox, bane, pet) could basically afk solo him which made me cry on the inside.

He dropped DI for my cleric though which was pretty sweet =P

It took forever to get that golem down 30% of his life using nothing but epic dot though. That's all I could get to land reliably. Oh well, so long as mana stable it dun matter.

Well you could have had a pet summoned also which would have been a little bump.
