I didn't end up seeing any hiero or duke nameds, but just as I was about to leave crypt for a group to take over, the crypt caretaker popped: http://postimg.org/image/nsco296ox/ ... he's just behind that pillar on the left. I was low on mana and buffs and clickies, but meh, it's just a little feller! So I charmed pet up and engaged. Fired off a cheap slow to save mana incase I had a charm break: http://postimg.org/image/wk2fzgevb/ And I did: http://postimg.org/image/8fe3d4k6x/ But it didn't matter. Loot: http://postimg.org/image/yogllbrrz/ On a somewhat interesting note, I guess, while I didn't have any luck with good loot down in there, I did apparently have amazing luck with resists. I killed 6 (or 8? I can't remember) guardians with no slow resists, only two fetters broke early, and only a few stun were resisted. Those guys have always given me fits before, resisting multiple slows in a row and refusing to stay rooted, etc. Maybe pasi being close to solo legend will finally motivate me to go kill the giants and hole mobs [You must be logged in to view images. Anyways. Here is the story and screenshots that I DO have to post! I've been putting off my last SAC kills for a while now because they are the kills I find the most annoying. Killing bellycasters, killing stuff immune to all of my spells, killing stuff in a zone that I can't really CR myself in. But Drumas was bored today, so I asked if he'd be up for providing rez and dungeon-crawl services to me in the hole... and next thing you know, we were entering via the little locked rock/pool dealie in paineel. Jesus. I am SO PISSED that I didn't think of all the perfect times to take screenshots until now. Anyway, back on topic again, I lulled a bunch of those low-level elementals just inside the entrance and we made our way down into the open area outside of the Slizik jail cell complex before I picked up a pet. The first rock golem I snagged was level 50, and he ended up serving us very well for the next hour or so. Crazy that those dudes have almost 10k hp without buffs (and it seems like this guy was much less prone to breaking charm than the rat I ended up with later). This is the first screenshot I took, taken about 5 seconds after realizing "oh shit, a little stairwell littered with ratmen corpses would be a sweet screenshot": http://postimg.org/image/eddaqx0gb/ A few more single pulls after that, my pet was guarding in a room with Drumas and I was peeking around the corner at Slizik: http://postimg.org/image/d0vlp130r/ After talking a bunch of smack about how easy a 54 warrior would be to kill and clicking off my cleric buffs, I pulled Slizik only to have my charm break the moment I did so. And then I realized Slizik was immune to stun/mez, as he and my pet chewed through rune and bedlam instantly and had me down to ~25% before I burned a wand charge on my pet and managed to fetter Slizik and try to get the fight back on track: http://postimg.org/image/5rfjmce9d/ Here you can see me not quite back on track though, because yeah, I just tried to stick a bedlam on that dirty little rat instead of on myself: http://postimg.org/image/u97na8gtt/ Charm held the whole fight though, and the slowed Slizik was not even remotely close to being a challenge for my monster of a pet: http://postimg.org/image/4pb07fr4x/ Of course, lulling past a dozen light blues and killing a handful of rats was much less interesting than what came next, which was Drumas and I crawling our way through basically the entire zone to get over to Dartain...

![]() God. I don't have any screenshots worth posting of our crawl through the hole. This is terrible. I wonder if I could convince Drumas to do it again with me one of these days, and go down into there with a checklist of shots to take so I can actually put together an awesome text+visual post.
Oh well. Using the same pet that killed Slizik, Drumas buffed me back up and we starting our way across the map: http://wiki.project1999.org/File:Map_thehole.jpg It's a long-ass ways from #13 over to #3-4 area. There were enough see invis mobs that we figured we might as well not even try, and that we'd be better off just using the awesome golem pet to plow our way through the city. Of course, I have only been in the hole twice (and neither time was I really paying attention to the layout or mob types or anything, I was just along for the ride hasting melee and CCing stuff) and Drumas said something about how he hadn't been in Yael's room for 11 years... so yeah. The crawl south through the halls and tunnels from #13 down was np, not many mobs, pretty spread out. But once we were due south of F/G on the map, things got nasty. We ran into the first level 54 golem (which defy tradition apparently, and are immune to mez/stun even though everywhere else in the game stuff is susceptible to those until they are level 56) and we had my pet actually get feared by the first SK mob we fought (without significant incident, fortunately). Another good screenshot right? /sigh We cleared out a path around the south and east walls of that room there, just below F/G, took the long way around the area G is in for some reason (Drumas_tells_the_group_"I think you're lost.".jpg), then tried to stick our heads out into the area between H/G. Another level 54 golem + a couple buddies were on my pet quickly, and while it was VERY messy we would have been alright (there didn't seem to be any of the annoying CHers in range to heal through walls that we dealt with right before this point)... except that the freaking level 54 golem FLED when he got low on life. APPARENTLY I had every single golem to this point rooted until they died or something, because I don't remember anything fleeing to this point, especially when that thing had a small train of buddies right there helping beat on us........ Anyway. As soon as it rounded the corner into a ruined building there, I told Drumas to back up a ways and try to camp out. He got out shortly before 6-8ish mobs finished off my pet and summoned me. I managed to run back to where Drumas could see my corpse before I died though, yay. A few minutes later we were resting up sitting basically right in the crossroads, anxiously hoping no pathers we had missed came by and killed Drumas as he kept manastoning himself down to 3%... lol. We made it out though, and I had the idea to bind sight, invis myself, and check to see how many mobs in the next room over actually saw invis. Turns out only two of them did, and both of them were light blues, so I lulled them no problem and the two of us zipped through invis (runes too, just incase!), emerging into the dock/water area south of the hole leading down to Yael... where we promptly aggrod another level 54 golem + a wizard buddy. After a bit of frantic healing (the light-blue wiz landed some nukes on me I think, while I was scrambling to try to tash+root the golem), we got those two lulled and blurred, and swam out into the water to med up. <3 my fishbone earring that I carry everywhere but almost never use. We managed to duck and carefully creep over the edge of the waterfall to land in the pool below safely, then we snagged a rat to clear the way up (another level 50 on first try, woot) and fought up to the undead area. Once there, we blurred the little ray back to his home and IVUd over to the safe spot by the K on the map and I ran below to look for Dartain. Alas: . . . . . . . [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] [You must be logged in to view images. ![]() Tecmos, you aren't going to like what I have to say, but that screen shot does not show Dartain's spawn point :P
If he was up you should have seen casting messages from where you were, but that isn't the right spot. I'll be on later and can show you the spawn point with my hole CR toon if you are still camped down there. (I can also drag you to the zone in if you die)

So apparently, as any of you who are familiar with Dartain already knew by looking at my retarded SS, I was looking in the wrong spot for this fella. After yelling in guildchat about a locked boulderdoor keeping me from killing Dartain though, I got advice to /tar him and send a pet in. So I charmed the named ghost fella down here after seeing he's supposed to be level 50, cleared fallen erudites, and proceeded to ensure my pet and I were fully buffed. Hit pet with a couple junk buffs, umbra, shissar, bedlam, rune 5, and feedback. I even gave him a couple lariats for the aggro, since I didn't want to be trying to root or blur Dartain (I think this is the first fight I've ever actually used REAL pet weapons for, heh). I sent him in through the boulder then backed him off before he put Dartain in summoning range and then the real fight started out in the open: http://postimg.org/image/vxkssbw8z/ I ended up just putting tepid deeds on Dartain; I figured he would probably resist a couple times, and between wanting to get him slowed quickly, not wanting to OOM or aggro trying to slow him, and assuming he would spend a lot of his melee timers casting anyway... yeah. Well slow stuck immediately, so I was kinda just sitting there for the early fight. As you can see in this SS, pet is already down to the same HP % as Dartain even though pet started the fight with 1k+ rune, is quadding and hasted, and Dartain was slowed almost immediately: http://postimg.org/image/5lfump6o3/ For the next minute or so I was hitting pet with bedlam and rune, but whatever dots he had eaten to this point were working him over even without taking much melee damage. The lariats were working wonders on aggro; 5 runes during an eye of veeshan fight pulled aggro off of eabon (who probably dumped a mallet into the eye), but a few bedlams and a rune didn't pull off of my pet. Dartain was really messing the pet up bad at this point, even though pet is only 10% below him in this shot: http://postimg.org/image/y8xz0bdi9/ So, not wanting to have to try this again down the road, I used a reaper on my pet: http://postimg.org/image/47piea0n5/ I guess... what's cheesier in a solo challenge? Using a strong clicky and succeeding on the first attempt, or failing for not using the strong clicky and then calling in people to summon my corpse/help me CR/etc? Lol [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Anyway. I couldn't have survived the fight without the - anyway, because my pet broke charm shortly after the CH and needed a wand of allure charge. I got him back just as I lost bedlam+rune and fetter stuck on Dartain right away so my pet could get some aggro built up again: http://postimg.org/image/uv2t4fdhz/ That root didn't last long, and I got a few resists after that too, but pet eventually peeled him off of me after I stuck a blur: http://postimg.org/image/h2otg4msj/ Pet whittled him the rest of the way down without further incident: http://postimg.org/image/uatfs94kl/ Phew! Thanks to Drumas for making the busywork of moving around down there 100x easier (plus I had a legitimate blast crawling through the dungeon)!

I scouted out the reaver down by the moat and decided that I didn't want to try him. All the potential pets down near him were light blue and I'd have to lev from on top of the goo house to get around behind him without aggroing him and I'd have to lull like 4 mobs right next to him to get him solo and the hallways are even more cramped than the ramps above. So I went back up to the final platform (and on that note, why did I never think of levving up onto this doorframe before so that it was a sure thing to get across? http://postimg.org/image/n3yd21np7/), Wraith of Jaxion was up, so I figured "cool, a level 45 mob, he should be as good as anything!" and I charmed him up, umbra, rune, bedlam, feedback, shissar... get myself fully buffed and medded up, etc: http://postimg.org/image/ii7w33exx/ I make sure bedlams are fresh, then I aggro the inside with pet and figure I'll just root the golem and brute force my way to an S- with CH clickies on wraith. I get the reaver and the fog golem he's with, root the golem as Wraith is getting pounded, back him off a few steps ... and yeah, pathing fail. Next thing I know this is the scene: http://postimg.org/image/bfrwcpqfx/ Wraith was dead a second later and I hatted out, recharged, and gated back up to the platform. Chatting with guildies a bit, it sounds like Wraith has lower-than-normal hp for a level 45... either that or he just got spanked with some melee rng bad luck. I mean, he did tank a level 42ish mob, the reaver, and then a level 45ish monk mob on and of there. Oh well. I read up on Lor's comment about how he chain-petted a few things and then began preparing to do that myself. Below is me taking like 30 minutes to hit 3 mobs with weapons (I didn't have enough lariats but was hoping I wouldn't end up needing the light-blue skele), umbra, rune 5, and VoG: http://postimg.org/image/gwf5ku97h/ http://postimg.org/image/fdoctls0t/ http://postimg.org/image/nx7qrd0d9/ http://postimg.org/image/b4cil1q67/ Finally I got the goo on the platform charmed and buffed up, brought him across the chasm of ultimate doom, and gnomed it up to go peak through the door and attempt my pull, which I was hoping would consist of me rooting the pathing golem inside and aggroing the reaver so I could drag him across to my waiting pet death squad: http://postimg.org/image/ko2x87vgz/ And it worked, actually. Reaver came right across the gap that has given me oh, so many troubles up to this point: http://postimg.org/image/j1ib0q8sz/ Oh hey. Check that out. This goo is actually HOLDING FUCKING EVEN with the reaver that tends to annihilate anything I charm in no time at all: http://postimg.org/image/x32r35e1x/ Still going strong! Wtf?! I didn't even help the pet along at all because my plan was to do as little as possible to aggro the reaver, figuring that would make it easier for my subsequent pets to pull him off of me: http://postimg.org/image/4ff5wijlr/ And then the chasm of ultimate doom struck again. The damn reaver and pet weren't even moving at all, they seemed to be sitting still with no push one way or the other, and then suddenly they disappeared. So I turned to the mobs behind me and re-rooted them (I think they had about 30 seconds left on fetter) as quickly as I could: http://postimg.org/image/od1wm6503/ I ran off the edge and started spiraling down as quickly as I could. It looked like the reaver was getting the better of my pet finally, and not wanting to fail on this attempt I started trying to click my reaper on my way down. Out of range out of range out of range... out of charges. WHAT THE HELL?! I KNOW that thing was charged, I just recharged all 3 of my reapers last night after I used my last charged one on Dartain. Unfortunately I didn't catch any screenshots right here because of my franticness to pull this out. I got down to the ground with my pet at ~10% though, stepped into melee and actually ate like 4 rounds without the reaver getting all the way through my rune. And then it was dead: http://postimg.org/image/5ue7sg6d7/ Sulfur crystals loot and I hatted out as my pet started on the second reaver. Hmm. I wonder if that thing will stay standing there and cause havoc for all the people leveling in the zone. Sure sure, I didn't train them with my pet death squad (plus all the other mobs in the zone), but now this guy is sitting right here until... who knows? Lol [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] So yeah! Turns out I ended up doing the fight without strong clickies because of some bug where my charge got used because of z-axis or something, and even ended up doing him with just 1 (very badass) goo pet! Yay! Too bad all the giants have been down nonstop for like 2 days now. I keep logging on my little druid to check on them and I haven't seen them up at all [You must be logged in to view images.
