My point was this. With no exp loss what is the negative side for a group just throwing themselves into pvp with no real hope of winning, with the intention to annoy the other group?

Example 20 people are inside fear. 10 people outside they zone in pvp and die. Then just to be jerks they just bind outside and keep zoning in nuking people and dying. Since there is no real penalty for their deaths, what would prevent them from doing this?

It already happens with throwaway accounts. So remove pvp exp loss and it will happen a ton more.
Ok so your alternative to people guerilla contesting raid content underrostered, making fun pvp happen where there was little to be had before is to let nihilum (or the zerg of the month) sit on raid zones and farm gear for weeks with no pvp challenge because no one wants to eat the ginormous xp loss in pvp.

Gotcha.

Im gonna bet these types of players have never played Rallos and are on a different mindset. I see EQ mainly as a pvp game, with PVE on the side. Thats what Rallos was. These blue players expect to see little to no PVP alongside their main dish, which is PVE.

Im telling ya, if they patch xp loss, theres gonna be a big power struggle, the server is gonna become alot more fun (for most people) and faces are going to be rearranged and im gonna be re-installing EQ to get a seat in front row.

Blablabla grief this, blablabla grief that, im joining/forming a noob protection squad and ganking PKers with my strictly pvp alts on day one.

I see you have some pre conceived notion about this and therefore are not willing to have any constructive comments.

To each their own. I enjoy group/mass pvp and single pvp not so much. I guess I did not grow up playing call of duty on xbox in my young days.

Anyone who uses the word grief, in something they want to do to people then I have to question why they would be playing a group oriented game.

Thats what you said. "Whats stopping people from coming into fear and challenging us on raid content even though theyve got half our numbers?" Thats the whole point of removing xp loss in pvp and why it has to go.

I was 5 in 1980 making my mom freak out by crossing the boulevard alone to play the Asteroids arcade game on a little bench because i wasnt tall enough to reach the controls. Put that in your "Shut up kid, the adults are talking" pipe and smoke it.

From what I recall, there were no end-game PK guilds, and raid vs. raid pvp only happened on RZ once in a blue moon when he anti guilds got into disputes.

It's a safe assumption that he did not. Things you need to know about Elderan (aka why he is one of our more treasured posters on Red99 ForumQuest):

-He owns a business, don't forget this.
-He just wants to state the facts, that's all.
-He has achieved more in Everquest than you could ever dream of.

From what I recall the head of SoE's customer service division had to become a full time head GM on our server because there was so much pvp, especially in Velious.

That ends today's history lesson.

There was NO xp loss on pvp death and raid mobs some how managed to be won or lost by either side.

So much PVP for end of Kunark and all of Velious on RZ. 60vs60 fights in Temple of Veeshan and Dragon Necropolis.
